According to PandaLabs the quantity of the PCs infected with worm Conficker, continues to grow. By results of laboratory PandaLabs researches, 6 % (5,77 %) computers worldwide are infected by this type of malware.
Research of two millions computers has shown that the infection which has arisen in China, has extended now in 83 countries, and in such countries as Spain, the USA, Taiwan, Brazil, and Mexico, it is especially dangerous.
“From two millions checked up PCs by this type of a worm it has been infected 115000.”, - Luis Korrons, technical director PandaLabs says. “Undoubtedly, epidemic at any moment can start or is worse than if the worm starts to copy another malware to computers or to be multiplied in other ways”.
PandaLabs experts have gathered the information on a worm. Some types of a worm provoke hard attacks for the purpose of capture of passwords of the infected computers and corporate networks. Repeatability of the subordinate passwords (simple words, proper names and so forth) can be used for distribution of the malware. Gathering these passwords, cyber-criminals get into computers and use them for their purposes.
“This warning for all users that they installed difficult passwords for an input both in the personal computer, and for access to a corporate network, or the infection will extend on all company”, - explains Korrons.
The worm is designed in such a manner that also can extend through USB-devices: when you insert the device, on Windows panel there is an option for program start (activating malware ON) under the pretext of a safe option of opening of a folder for review of files. Thus, when users simply wish to look what is in, they can start a worm and infect the computer.
