Each 100-th computer is infected with spyware

The report is made on the basis of the analysis of the data collected by free on-line antivirus ActiveScan. From 67 million the personal computers which have been checked up by means ActiveScan in last year, spyware and trojans have been detected on approximately 1 % of computers. If to consider, that worldwide quantity of the personal computers connected to the Network, makes nearby 1 billion - it means that 10 million of computers may be infected.
Panda Security experts notice, that in many cases users load harmful programs on the computers. Spyware and utilities for theft of the confidential information frequently extend under the pretext of useful appendices, codecs and antiviruses. The quantity of the threats which have been found out by Panda Security in second half of last year, has jumped up at once on 800 % in comparison with the first half of the year.
According to Panda Security, the native land of the majority of the harmful programs intended for theft of confidential data, are China and Russia. At the same time Brazilian and Korean cybercriminals become more active lately.
