The critical error in Microsoft Word

Microsoft company has warned about presence of critical vulnerability in the Microsoft Word, which can lead to attacks of hackers to computers of users. Representatives of Microsoft are engaged in research of the given problem and will release official correction with regular monthly upgrade.

The software giant has confirmed vulnerability presence about which the contributor of anti-virus company Panda Izmael Briones (Ismael Briones earlier has written). According to its report, vulnerability, basically, is in “engine” of Microsoft Jet Database Engine which is used by many professional program applications, as Access and Visual Basic.

Attacking can take advantage of this vulnerability and, having started the harmful document of Word on the computer of a victim, to receive handle of the remote computer. The truth for this purpose to a victim is required to instal the appropriate program and physically to open sent Word-file. Therefore representatives of the company of Microsoft name this error very limited.

As operating systems of Windows Vista, Vista Service Pack 1 or Windows 2003 Service Pack 2 in general are unreceptive to this sort of attacks. Under the statement of representatives of the company, Microsoft studies public reports and problems which its users, and also possibilities of usage of this vulnerability through additional applications face. On research end, Microsoft will undertake appropriate operations to help the consumers. Representatives also add that if it is necessary, the company will release release of special upgrade of safety. However solution of the given problem by means of regular monthly upgrade is more preferable.
